U.S. death rates vary greatly by state, and weight is a big factor in mortality, according to a new report by the CDC.
The Southeast states, including Alabama and Louisiana, have among the highest death rates, according to the report. These are also among the most obese states in the nation.
Hawaii and New York have among the lowest death rates.
